DIVISIONS

Individual Divisions:

• Elite Men and Women - 26

• Rx Men and Women 26-56 (30)

• Intermediate Men and Women - 30

• Masters Age 35-39 Men & Women - 20 + Winner from Desert City Masters

• Masters Age 40-44 Men & Women - 20

• Masters 45-49 MEN & Women - 10

• Masters Age 50-54 Men & Women - 10

• Masters Age 55+ Men & Women - 10

Teams of 2 Co-Ed & Same Sex Divisions:

Rx - TBD

Intermediate - TBD

Masters - 35+ at least one athlete must be 40+

Scaled - TBD

Monster Games reserves the right to expand or reduce spots by division based upon qualifier participation. Certain divisions may have a cut line below the stated numbers above.

THE STANDARDS

ELITE/RX:

Elite: You can perform the workouts for the CrossFit Quarterfinals as prescribed no matter what. Our Elite division will have multiple Semi-Final athletes competing and we have graduated multiple athletes to the CrossFit Games.

Rx: All of the above are true but you may have a few holes in your top end strength or high skill gymnastics endurance. You can do everything but others can simply do it faster or more efficiently.

There is nothing you aren’t willing to attack.

INTERMEDIATE/MASTERS:

You typically Rx class workouts but may lack the skills for high volume gymnastics, moderately heavy load overhead or other gymnastic skills like Ring MU’s or Handstand Walking. The skill set is there but you aren’t the fittest on earth.

Masters: 35-49 individual athletes can expect to be treated like an Rx athlete the majority of the workouts. 50+ will have a change in load, volume, gymnastic skill level or a combination thereof. Expect to be able to do MU’s and walk on your hands but it will not be in high volume or unbroken sets/distances. We want to test the skills you have in as fair and safe of a way as possible.

Because you have to qualify for your spot in the championship, your skill level will dictate your division. Not sure which division to shoot for? Sign up for both but be brave enough to accept the highest invitation your earn!

SCALED:

Expect to be asked to perform standard height box jumps, thrusters, and front squats with a barbell at 95#/65# or DB’s with 35#’s and 25#’s. Gymnastics will consist of standard pull-ups, toes to bar, and various types of burpees. You will not be tested on high skill gymnastics like HS Walking, HSPU’s, MU’s, etc. We expect our Scaled athletes to understand the skills required to exercise while fatigued in a safe manner but you may be new at competing. We want to test you and prepare you to move up divisions in the years to come!

Weight will be light to moderate and the focus will be on movements that are completed by most athletes that take daily cross-training classes but scale technical movements and load.
